Ed Smith is a co-founder and director of Business Expert, bringing over three decades of experience in financial services compliance, administration and community management.
During the 1980s and 1990s, Ed served as Head of Finance & Administration at Alexander Walker, one of the largest UK financial intermediary networks of its time. In this role, she was responsible for finance, mortgage administration, regulatory compliance, insurance oversight and anti-money laundering (AML), holding formal qualifications in AML, banking regulation and compliance.
Following her financial services career, Ed moved into senior management at Age UK in West Sussex, where she led a team of over 30 staff and oversaw the care and support of more than 150 elderly clients.
Ed’s combination of financial services compliance expertise and hands-on experience working with vulnerable customers underpins Business Expert’s commitment to clear, responsible and accessible content.
