UK Business Credit Card Research: The BusinessExpert Primary-Source Datasets

Six live datasets · 12 UK business credit cards tracked · every figure sourced directly from issuer documentation · every row linked to its primary source

Most UK business credit card comparison tables are rebadged aggregator feeds. BusinessExpert’s research programme is different: every figure you see across the datasets below is traced directly to the issuer’s own documentation — summary boxes, terms and conditions, FCA-register entries, and live application pages. Where a figure is missing or ambiguous, we say so.

Scope: UK incorporated businesses only — limited companies and LLPs. Sole trader and consumer cards are excluded. How we research and verify this data.

The datasets

Annual Fee Dataset

What each card costs to hold — yearly charges by issuer, from £0 to £600+.

APR Dataset

Representative purchase APR by issuer. Floor rates and flexible-payment rates flagged separately.

FX Fee Dataset

What each card costs to use overseas — foreign transaction fees by issuer, including confirmed 0% cards.

Rewards Index

Standard earn rates on each card — cashback, Avios, Membership Rewards and programme-specific points.

Welcome Offer Tracker

Live introductory bonuses, the spend required, and the qualifying period — updated from current issuer pages.

Eligibility Index

Which UK legal structures each issuer accepts — limited company and LLP rules, by card.

How we built this

Every observation in our database carries a primary-source citation and a verification date. Research is conducted against issuer-published materials: summary boxes and pre-contract disclosures, terms and conditions, FCA register entries, application-flow eligibility screens, and issuer press releases. Aggregator sites, forums and Wikipedia are never treated as sources for structured claims.

Claims that exceed their freshness window are suppressed from the datasets until re-verified. Where an issuer’s public documentation is silent on a field, we say so — we do not infer a value to fill a gap.
